Meet Ashleigh
FOUNDER & PSYCHOLOGIST
Vivara Psychology was founded by Ashleigh James, a Registered Psychologist dedicated to bringing a compassionate, holistic approach to mental wellbeing. Blending evidence-based therapies with holistic wellness, Ashleigh helps clients navigate life’s challenges with resilience and self-awareness.
Ashleigh works with adults and teens above 16. She supports individuals experiencing stress, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, self-esteem concerns and eating disorders. She uses therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy and Narrative Therapy, adapting interventions to suit each client’s unique needs.
In addition to therapy, Ashleigh offers nutritional coaching for clients who feel their mental health is impacted by nutritional imbalances.
Outside of work, she enjoys surfing, travel, mindfulness and personal growth.
